Workplace Consultation Programs

North Shore Child and Family Guidance has long recognized that mental health supports in the workplace are important. Our staff have provided organizational and program consultation to numerous agencies, school districts, child care and early learning centers, and major corporations in the metropolitan area. We recognize the impact of family and health issues on staff performance and of workplace tensions on individual and family functioning. Our staff, with particular training in group and systems development, can address life cycle and mental health issues and their role in the workplace. Programs include educational workshops and forums, and more comprehensive on-going supports. Services can be offered at the workplace site or our Center.

Topics we have addressed include:

· Resolving Conflict in the Workplace
· Developing Effective Communication Skills
· Managing Interpersonal Dynamics: A Guide for Middle Management
· Work and Family Issues: Juggling conflicting demands
· Going Back to Work: What new mothers and fathers need to know

Ongoing consultations have addressed:

· Skill building for the management of difficult clients.
· Interpersonal and communication issues at a work site.
· Mental health consultation to the child care and Head Start communities for children and families.
· Emergencies in schools and the workplace such as trauma, suicide, death and loss.
